Setting up an on premises (on prem) solution can be tricky. Here are some useful diagnostic tools and tricks for checking connections along the way.
Test the Connection to the Server
Via the RemoteSpark client on your PC open Settings using the gear icon at the bottom right of the login window.
Under Select Server choose Local Server. After that, Edit Item and enter your server's URL.
Click Test Login Server.
You'll be notified if RemoteSpark can or cannot contact your server. If it cannot, adjust your server settings and try again. Repeat as needed.
Test Your Network
Provided your connection to your server was successful the next test will be to ensure that all necessary ports are open for RemoteSpark. Please refer to our network firewall rules for information on necessary ports.
You must log into RemoteSpark to complete a network test.
Once logged in double-click on the user icon beside your username. This is beside the WiFi status in the bottom left corner of the RemoteSpark window.
Click Run Tests.
Refer to the error codes for guidance and update your network accordingly. Repeat tests until all tests come back green.
Make a Call
The final test is to make a call. Please ensure that both parties have their Local Server set to your server's IP.
