Adding 2 experts to a RemoteSpark call using the Mixed Reality headset

Modified on Thu, 27 Jun at 11:06 AM

You can only invite a second PC or Web expert to a RemoteSpark call from the Mixed Reality Headset and not from Expert RemoteSpark PC or Web app.

How to initiate the conference call?

To initiate the call from the Mixed Reality Headset, you will need RemoteSpark version 2.1 on both the Expert and Mixed Reality application. Before the user on the Mixed Reality Headset can invite a second expert on a RemoteSpark call, the user on the Mixed Reality Headset needs to already be on a call with another expert. Once that call is in-progress or initiated, simply follow the instructions below:

1. Summon the Palm Panel and choose the add 2nd expert function by either air-tapping or touching the icon on the call window (as highlighted below).

2. Once you select the “add 2nd expert icon you will be taken to your list of contactsYou can choose the 2nd  expert you would like to add to the call and call them.

3. Once the 2nd expert accepts the incoming call request on the PC or Web Clientthe Mixed Reality Headset user can verify the connection of both experts on the call by checking the call status displayed on the palm panel (highlighted below)

Both experts will be able to collaborate and share content(Photos, Pdfs and Models) on the conference call with the Mixed Reality Headset user, including collaborating through audio and video feed.

Please note:

When on multi-party conference calls, it's imperative to exercise caution when annotating a picture within the Mixed Reality Headset wearer's field of view.

It's advised to allow a brief interval for the thumbnail on the expert side to update after each inking session, considering potential delays in ink updates due to network and bandwidth variations. Simultaneous inking by multiple experts should also be avoided to prevent the inadvertent overwriting and disappearance of annotation, thus ensuring uninterrupted communication and preserving the integrity of shared visual annotations.
