How to Start a Multi-Party Call

Modified on Thu, 23 Jan at 2:59 PM

You can now add a second expert to a RemoteSpark call!

You can only invite a second PC/WebClient expert to a call from the HoloLens app and not from the PC/WebClient app.

Prerequisites:

  • Both the PC/WebClient application and the HoloLens device application need to be on RemoteSpark version 2.2.2.
  • The HoloLens user should already be in a call with a PC/WebClient user.

How do I start the multi-party call?

1. Summon the Palm Panel and choose the add second expert function by selecting the icon on the call window (as highlighted below).

2. Once you select the add second expert icon you will be taken to your list of contacts. Choose the expert you would like to add to the call.

3. Once the second expert accepts the incoming call request on the PC or Web Client, the HoloLens user can verify the connection of both experts on the call by checking the call status displayed on the palm panel (highlighted below).

Both experts will be able to collaborate and share content (photos, PDFs and models) on the conference call with the HoloLens user, including collaborating through audio and video feed.

Please note:

  • When on multi-party conference calls, please be careful when adding ink to a picture within the HoloLens user's field of view.
  • After adding ink, you should wait for the thumbnail on the PC/WebClient side to update. This is to reduce errors due to potential network-related delays in ink updates.
  • Simultaneous inking by multiple experts should also be avoided, as this may cause overwriting and disappearance of annotations. We want to ensure uninterrupted communication and integrity of shared visual annotations.
