How do I add more than one expert to my call?

Modified on Fri, 3 Jun, 2022 at 11:53 AM

RemoteSpark version 1.x.x is natively a one-to-one call between the support worker and expert. It's not uncommon for more than one expert to be needed on a call, however. Luckily, there is a workaround using a third party while we develop our multi-expert call capabilities.

Please note that Kognitiv Spark does not directly support this method. We have, however, found success with this method internally.

Microsoft Teams

Using Microsoft Teams, the on-call expert is able to dial in other experts and share their RemoteSpark window with the others on the call.

When sharing the RemoteSpark application you'll need to ensure that you include your computer's audio so that the other participants can engage the HoloLens user.

To share sound from your computer, select Share content    in your meeting controls and then Include computer sound - it's the switch on the top left of your sharing options.

Considerations

  • We find that this works best if the sharing expert is not using wireless headphones.

  • We find that sharing the RemoteSpark application directly versus sharing the whole screen.

Other Options

  • The same principles can be applied to other common video conferencing tools like Zoom, WebX, Skype, and Google Meet.
