Note: this article refers to RemoteSpark for HoloLens use.
The short answer is yes.
There are a few necessary steps that you must take before you can use RemoteSpark without an internet connection.
Step 1: Have an Internet Connection
Contradictory, we know, it'll make sense, we promise.
We'll paint you a picture using a real life use case. We work with an energy provider that has technicians that routinely travel into areas with very poor cellular connectivity. More often than not, they have zero data transfer capabilities on their cell phones that they're using to hotspot with RemoteSpark. Before heading into the wilderness, they open RemoteSpark and load any pertinent assets to the device. Once in the Land of Bad Internet, they can open RemoteSpark and use the assets that have been loaded onto their HoloLens.
So, Step 1: Have an Internet Connection makes a bit more sense now?
Step 2: Open Any Pertinent Assets
Per the story above, the next step is to open any assets that you're going to need in the field on RemoteSpark on the HoloLens. Once you open the assets, they're downloaded and stored on the HoloLens itself. You can even go as far as deleting them from the Workspace that you're in - they'll still be stored on the device (a little pro-tip there even if you're not going to be going into an offline state).
Once you have everything that you need you can turn the HoloLens off. So long as you don't Logout and Exit of RemoteSpark, but instead either Exit or simply turn the device off, you'll remain logged in.
Step 3: Hit the Road
Or go wherever it is that you won't have connectivity.
Open RemoteSpark on the HoloLens and you will automatically be logged in. On the Palm Panel, in your Library, you will be able to see the assets that you had previously downloaded which you can then place in your new offline Workspace.
